Our best competition is competition with ourselves. Many times it happens when you are solving a maths problem and it is not working for you, you are confused then. You can ask yourself which situation you enjoy the most.
That is, in solving a question that you were not able to solve on your own or in solving such a question which your classmates are not able to solve. We should always compete with ourselves instead of comparing or competing ourselves with others.
We should try to improve ourselves regularly, keep trying to make our skills better. We can expand our skills, knowledge, and our capability only with hard work and dedication. While preparing, pay more attention to the dimensions in which you need to improve.

Ask yourself some questions –
- Am I able to solve maths questions quickly in the earlier comparison?
- Can I stay focused in one place, and how can I increase my concentration?
- Do I need to increase my Vocabulary?
- Do I feel sad by comparing myself to others?
You must be aware of the famous athlete Sergey Bubka, he has broken his own world record not once or twice but 35 times in the men’s pole vault ‘bamboo jump’ event.
In competition, when we compete with each other, there are three main possibilities –
- Either you are better than that!
- Or worse!
- Or its equivalent!
If you are better than the other then it will definitely happen that you will be filled with carelessness and you may also get overconfidence.
You can become sad, disappointed, and depressed if you compare yourself with others. It is also possible that you may lose confidence in yourself and you may not try any further.
If you both are equal then you will never see what improvements you need. You will never feel the need for improvement.
Opposite of all this, when you compete with yourself, then you will always insist on improving yourself and that’s what really matters is that you keep on making yourself better.
Sometimes competition destroys even a good friendship, so insist on self competition.
Remember, you always have to break your own records, successful people always compete with themselves and due to far-sightedness, they understand that by competing with themselves they will always find themselves better and will be more successful than before.
