Imagine that you wake up one morning in a very happy mood and one of your friends calls you and says, ‘You are my best friend and I am so happy that the best person in the world is my friend. He is saying all these things to you honestly.
How would you feel after hearing such things?
Any person will like such things very much, of course, you will also like it very much.
Now imagine that you wake up the next morning in a very cheerful mood and one of your friends calls you and says,
“You are the worst man. I feel ashamed to call you my friend and you are the worst person in this world. Today I end my friendship forever.” Saying this he hangs up the phone.
How would you feel after hearing such things?
Such things will be very bad for any person, and of course, you will feel very bad too.
Now compare the events of both days and see how we are happy and sad in our life. When you were praised and named the best man on the first day, you felt great, you had a great day and you were rocking happily that day. The very next day when you were told that you were a bad person, you felt very bad and sad. Your whole day was very bad because of this bad feeling.
Just think carefully,
Who is controlling your life when you are happy and sad?
Surely the same person who told you such things. So would you like to spend your whole life like this because you will get such examples at every turn of life. It is the external influence that we feel inside us but remember that it is only external pressure.
What to do in such situation?
Be a good person in your eyes. Never let anyone control your emotions. You are good in your eyes, that’s it. If someone likes you, it’s a good thing. But if someone doesn’t like you, who cares. You are good and you know that you are good, that matters.
So be an inwardly motivated person.
Elinor Roosevelt said :
“Without your permission, no one can make you feel bad, inferior or small.”
You have to be such a person who should be elevated in his own eyes. The control of being happy and being unhappy is within you. So don’t let others control your life. Whatever someone says, be happy inside yourself.
You must have heard a story, I would like to repeat it here.
A sage Mahatma was going somewhere on his way, he met a person on the way who started abusing loudly. All the disciples of the sage were getting agitated with anger but the sage Mahatma was going ahead without reacting. As the sage took his steps forward, the man again started abusing him.
This time the sage said to that person- ‘Tell me, if we do not want to take someone’s offered thing, then with whom will that thing remain?’
The man said that that thing will remain with the one who gave it. This time the sage said,
“I refuse to take this gift of the abuses you are giving.”
Saying this the sage went ahead from there and the man sat there holding his head and started repenting. The sage Mahatma had internal control over himself and due to this inner inspiration, he never let anyone control his feelings.
Whenever you are sad, upset, angry, then at the same time ask from yourself :
- Why are you sad ?
- Why are you angry ?
- Why are you upset ?
By asking yourself such questions, you start to understand the solutions related to your problems.
Happiness is an inner inspiration.
Happiness is inside us and we kept looking for it outside. If everything is there in your life, you are not necessarily to be happy. But even if there is nothing in your life, you can always be happy.
Happiness is like a butterfly, the more you run after it, the faster it will go on flying. You should stand silently in one place, the same butterfly will come and sit on your shoulder on its own.
Feel the happiness from within. Enjoy every situation to the fullest. Find happiness in small things, always remember that time is never the same, life has its ups and downs and this is also a big part of our life. Be happy and make other people happy too.
